This uptown gem has 100 year old live oak trees and a well manicured golf course. Audubon Park is popular with cyclists, runners and bird watchers as well. Great family environment awaits you. Audubon Zoo and Tulane University are visible from the park.

Audubon Park is exquisite. The beautiful moss coverer oaks gives shade to the joggers, golfers, & picnic nickers. And the zoo ~ great outing for people of all ages

When traveling we look for birding hot spots and this is one of them in the heart of NOLA. Over 500 Black Belly Whistling ducks were calling as we strolled through the well manicured easy to navigate path around the pond. This is a wonderful place to walk, jog, ride a bicycle and of course look at birds. The St.... More

Located across from Loyola University in uptown New Orleans. Every visit to New Orleans I love running down the grassy area of the St Charles Streetcar line and then around the just under 2 mile loop in the park. In the morning, the water areas are teaming with bird life. The trail also has fitness stations around the whole perimeter... More

Audubon Park is always beautiful. The walk from the trolley stop to the zoo is one of my favorite things in NOLA. Remember, though, bikes on the one lane, pedestrians on the other. There are play areas, walking areas, places to sit, and a golf course in the middle. If the walk to the zoo is too far, there is... More

Nice place to visit with kids on a sunny day and stop over by the zoo. The zoo is very nice. You can get better prices from the tourist places. We paid 10.50 per person instead of the price listed on the webite

A very nice park in a very nice part of the city. Great for walks/strolls during the day and for taking in all of the beautiful houses that line the walkways of the park.

We walked through the park and had lunch and did some bird watching. A golf course is within the park and the Zoo is across the street.

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
