I believe the thing that sold me most about this day trip, other than the plantations of course, was our guide and driver Jacques. He is absolutely great! Very knowledgeable and witty and is very helpful and friendly. If you go to Laura Plantation make...More

Was absolutely amazed by the Plantations and the unbelievable settings. Some of our best vacation pics are from here. Gives a very clear thought of what life must have been like before the War!

The Whitney Plantation is a must see! Not only for people who'd like to know about history of the slaves on the plantation, but also as a reminder that slavery still exists in the current society. I found the most interesting part the methods used...More

From the moment of the booking to the end, it went very, very well. Despite the pouring rain, the driver made it fun! His knowledge of the New-Orleans, Louisiana and of course the plantations (I went to Oak Alley and Laura) was phenomenal. I learnt...More

The Whitney Plantation is a tremendous recovery of the past. Tangible reproduction of what it meant to be a slave and the mindset of the masters. The tour guide that drove us to the plantation, Jacques, was a pro, knowledgeable, patient and provided a lot...More

This was a beautiful drive outside of the city. Does not take long. If you have your own car and can be on your own schedule, would highly recommend it.

Mine was a guided walking tour. Some did it without the guides but you loose out on the history. Worth being guided.

You can visit the plantation on your own. You will have to pay an entrance fee when you get there. Once inside, you can tour the area at your leisure. The house is a guided tour that occurs at specific times.
