Neighbourhood: French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

Fantastic service, free samples to try in shop, and knowledgeable about what they sell. The hot sauces tasted amazing and range from just right to blow your head off.

Tons of variety and a fun place to shop. However, on our last day in New Orleans we ordered a variety shipment to our son in Chicago and an identical shipment to our son in law in Minnesota. The counter guy was busy and asked if he could ship it later on. No problem. A few days later all of the products were sent to Chicago and none of them to Minnesota; even though we charged for 2 shipments. Accidents happen, no big deal, but I wanted to get it straightened out so I called their store multiple times, left VMs but never received a response. I emailed a copy of our receipt and asked them to contact me.... again zero response. It has been a few weeks now and it is clear that they have no intention of making this right. Very disappointed with their total lack of customer service to correct their error.

This is truly a place to explore, and it's free. Technically it is a store where you can buy over 100 types of sauces, glazes, rubs and spices--and even drink mixes. However, shopping is only tangential to the reason to stop in. Here you can taste test as many of these as you want--and get an explanation of them and how they are used in different foods. I know this is a chain, but it seems ever so much more appropriate to go in New Orleans given the use of so many of the products in foods native to the city.

A must visit if you enjoy spicy foods! The staff is friendly and very helpful. Large selection and lots of samples. I bought several items but most didn't last so I had to order more online. There is even an app that is easy to order from. The Mango Fruit Salsa has a great flavor and just the right touch of hot if you like chips and salsa and the Reaper salsa is, if you can handle it, a nice add to any meal. My favorite hot sauces are the Smokin' Reaper and Tr3s Diablos. For those who enjoy grillin' I recommend the Sweet Bourbon Glaze and Smoke Dat Butt rub.

Neat hot sauce shop with plenty of opportunity to try samples. The hot sauce is good quality, several of the barbeque sauces are outstanding and the staff are wonderfully helpful and fun

Ok, since my youth I have thrived in elevating my "heat" level. I heard about this place and knew we'd have to drop by. I left with a few selections (sauces, jellies, and dips like concoctions). I will be using one infused with ghost peppers for the upcoming super bowl wings spread. It's right on the corner, open and airy.
They offer free (tiny spoon) samples.
We got street parking for .25, enabling us to run in and right out.

So by the time I visited this store, it was close to the end of the week and we were already tight on space to bring anything home. Last thing we had space for was a bunch of glass bottles. But with the $5 shipping any where in the US, indulging in a bunch of bottles of hot sauce suddenly became feasible again. And after convincing the cashier that normally items that are purchased to be shipped out of state usually gets sold tax-free, it only took a few bottles of hot sauce before the tax savings cancelled out the shipping charge. The sales person was reasonably knowledgeable about which sauce was hotter than others, and she volunteered that after five bottles, the sixth bottle was free, which was what I ended up getting. Given the pandemic, I elected not to taste anything, so hopefully the sauce is delicious!

Pepper palace was an amazing scene immense co,ours as hundreds of individual chilli sauce bottles converged in one place. Amazing view and what brilliant individual designs on each and every bottle. An attack on my geordie senses without actually tasting one, although there were tasting spots, absolutely brilliant, in the heart of the French quarter. I bought a couple of bottled but managed to get only oneout of New Orleans as I used the sauce so much on the amazing food in the bars and restaurants ;0

Great selection of hot sauces, seasonings, and other sauces. Lots of variety with more samples than you could ever consume and everything clearly labeled as to spice level.

It’s a fun shop to peruse the many choices of hot sauces, salsa and more. The samples lines up on counters can easily be identified for strength of heat so you won’t be tricked into eating fire. The clerk was helpful matching our tastes with various choices.
