There is so much going on on royal street not just bars but shopping and music as well. Plenty of mask shops and souvenirs.

Plenty of antique shops and art galleries along with hotels and restaurants/cafes etc. Our hotel was on this street but well worth a visit where-ever you are staying.

Less of the bawdiness, and loudness of nearby Bourbon St. but still, the epitome of the French Quarter with Street artists and entertainers, galleries and other shops as well as plenty of bars and restaurants.

If you like art and antiques then you need to visit. While there I visited a antique shop that had flawless treasures as well as a gift shop that only sold limoge porcelain box figurines. Very cool.

Beautiful old architecture with interesting shops. Somewhat cleaner than other streets. Not much for repeat visits.

After you stroll along Bourbon Street and want a less noisy and more upscale area, head to nearby Royal Street ("less noisy" does NOT mean quiet). The street is easier to navigate, and there is a great variety stores/items. The restaurants are no more expensive...More

The shops were very nice. Some of the prices were good and some were just outrageous. Entertainment along the street was nice!

Great area with lots of shops and cafes. Not quite as busy as Bourbon Street but still pretty hoppin'.

If you're looking for anything special, check out this street. There are many shops / stores that I'm sure you'll find something you want. Just wish some more stayed open later.

A block and a world away from Bourbon Street. Wonderful shops...great antiques. Definitely worth the time ( 15 min. to hours) to walk and look in windows.

It's 2 streets over from Jackson Square. How far it is depends on where you are starting from on Royal. They cross each other.
