You could not find a more beautiful location for a a building of this nature. Overlooking Lake Monona you can watch sailboats, kayaks, paddle boards or fisherman angling for bluegills of the walkway beneath you. On the other side of the terrace you have a view of the State Capitol Building. Just beautiful.

Was here for a work function and really enjoyed this venue. Located on the lake where Otis Redding 's plane crashed and there is a nice tribute to him there

A Dream Realized in Madison One of our favorite architects, Frank Lloyd Wright, was never accused of being short on dreams and visions. From the smallest of homes to the largest of hotels and even entire cities, Wright was a master of design and was certainly far ahead of his time. One such design proposal was for a “dream civic... We had my daughters reception here. Everything was flawless down to the very smallest of details. The view and ambiance were spectacular. Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed the food and dance afterward. Dance floor was a little small, but it did not seem to bother anyone.

I was surprised that this terrace was closed on 1st of January. I was surprised that it is closed for evenings, so before you go better check hours. But still you can get a glimpse of great lake view through the glass elevator and great view on the Capitol (parking is free off hours).

For the last two years my niece and I have attended the Fair Trade Arts and Crafts Fair at Monona Terrace. The building in and of itself is a work of art, Frank Lloyd Wright design. The walls of the Terrace on the main entrance level (on the way to the gift shop) has the history of Frank Lloyd Wright.... More

We saw the fountain on the roof at Monona Terrace from the Capitol. The view is unhindered. We just did not know what the fountain represented. We elected to drive to the Terrace and park to tour it. We did not realize we could have walked as it was a pretty day. Parking was not a problem though. The Community... More
