On our way back to Cortez we came across a gem of a vineyard! The winery is pleasing to the eye and the wine not only the best in Colorado-but truly world-class. John Sutcliffe welcomed us into his home and then off we went to...More

I got stuck in Cortez during a particularly snowy afternoon and decided to try out Sutcliffe as it had pretty awesome reviews. The drive out there is incredible. Even with the snow, I had to stop the car several times just so I could look...More

The owner is a gracious and knowledgeable host. He made the visit memorable. The drive up the canyon is a lovely experience and added to the overall joy of the visit. It was our 3rd and best visit to Sutcliffe Vineyards.

They were closed, but they let us in anyway. What a wonderful quaint little winery. We got the Cabernet Sauvignon. It was awesome. You must stop here if you're in the neighborhood.

Positive reviews lead us to believe that the visit would be worth our while. Unfortunately our experience was less than favorable. The Riesling was acceptable; the Chardonnay was flat, lacking character; the Cabernet Franc and Syrah were both harsh and lacked complexity. Not sure how...More
