We enjoyed riding around the beautiful area. Temperature was perfect for our visit. We stopped many times to look at the various scenery offered by this beautiful site. We had never heard of this park before coming upon it in Cortez. We immediately saw a...More

We came here one day when it was 0C in Telluride. It was 27C here and pure blue skies. We did a nice hike and took in many of the sites. It wasn't well sign-posted getting there, though, and we didn't know just how much...More

I would suggest that you start with Hovenweep ruins. There are several areas of ruins miles apart, but the most are at Hovenweep. It is also the most strenuous walks in distance (although easy to do). Best time is in the fall when the aspens...More

Hike in Canyons of the Ancients NM for the high desert landscape of the Colorado plateau as well as Anasazi ruins at almost every turn. Follow the Rock Creek and East Rock Trail loops, too.

The landscape is breathtaking. The trail options for hiking range from short/easy to long and challenging. A winery across the street from the entrance is a must.

I agree with other answers - you could do fabulous hikes for a week, or spend three hours at the Anasazi Museum, which is a great place. I would recommend your choosing the number of days and go to the Museum first; their... More
