The foliage is pretty to look at. We had a nice time driving around and taking in the scenery. We were so tired from our other excursions so we didn’t get out and hike around.

I am always amazed at the natural beauty that our country has to offer. Take the time to drive or walk thru whatever you can and slow things down. I want to return in the Fall or the Winter.

Ouachita National Forest is tranquil, and a wonderful refuge from the busyness of life. It is a very large forest, with many back-trails that are way off the main roads. We saw several waterfalls and signs of wildlife, and thoroughly enjoyed enjoying God's creation!

Spent time driving around the area and through the Forest. Wish I had more time to spend hiking while I was there.

We spent several days in the forest starting with the west side in Oklahoma traveling and exploring all the way to the east side. Lots of places on the main roads to pull over for sightseeing. Lots of unpaved roads to choose from. Most are...More

Take the drive through the park you will be glad you did. The views are breathtaking. Drive slowly the roads are dangerous.

Lovely drive with curves and rolling hills and scenery. You can drive as long or short a distance as you want. Years ago we drove through the Ouachita and it was beautiful. This year, it was too early in October, plus the locals told us...More

Beautiful. Dogwood tress and spring flowers are just as pretty as it comes. Creek should have lot more water too. Enjoy the beauty. I always do.

There are many places to stay, but the National Park is an urban park. The park surrounds the city of Hot Springs. Kind of confusing but it was the first land set aside by the Federal Government in 1832. As for the Ouachita... More
