Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was my second time visiting Thap Doi historical ancient temple. I took my relatives here for the first time so they could see this historical temple. The entrance fee was very cheap. We saw the Cham people dancing for visitors. We donated some money to help them out. We took plenty of pictures at this temple for memory. Overall, it was just a quick visit because the place is very small.

A thousand years ago, the middle part of what is now Vietnam was part of a Hindu kingdom called Champa, which traded with Indonesia and made war with Angkor.

You can get a reminder of this period of history at Thap Doi, a pair of brick towers dedicated to the god Shiva. These red-brick towers still boast a few traces of their former stucco decoration and there are some impressive Garuda figures used as decoration. The main sight, however, is a large lingam (phallic symbol) placed in a highly ornamental yoni. It still attracts offerings from devotees to the present day.

Entrance to this prettily landscaped temple and garden costs a very reasonable 8000 dong.

Well restored Cham temple towers in a small park setting. A few kilometers from city center, but accessible by local bus with a 6000-dong ticket (about 25 cents in USD)..

Today we went to Thap Doi as we were looking to find things of interest in the area. The entry ticket was 8000 vnd, you can spend about 30 minutes here max, there is not a lot to see and any signs are only written in Vietnamese.

Glad we went, especially because I was interested in comparing the architecture to Angkor's. Not much time was needed there, but we enjoyed walking around the towers. We climbed the steps to look in at the altars but did not enter. Vietnamese sitting around the towers were friendly and welcoming. Admission fee was 8,000 dong. Nguyen Nga Center for Young Adults with Disabilities is literally next door. I recommend stopping there to buy a coffee or cold drink at Den Coffee, look at the gift shop, and perhaps be lucky enough to enjoy a musical performance by a few of the young adults.

A local travel agency told me about the Thap Doi Twin Temples when I asked to rent a motorbike. It took about 10 minutes to get there from the city center, is 8000 VND to get in (collected by the one worker tending the grass), and you can actually go inside these cool structures. It won't take up too much of your time, but there aren't many places in the world that you can get this close and touch ancient temples.

Two Cham towers in the city, well-restored, on attractive grounds. Not a lot that you can see that you couldn't get from just looking at the photos, but it was still an interesting enough place to visit for an hour or so.
