You can reach the Shanthipura View Point by taking the Shanthipura bus from Nuwara-eliya main bus stand. It's a 15 minute walk away from the bus stop.
They have put up boards so it's not very hard to find. The entrance fee is Rs.40 per person. I was not much impressed with the view though I managed to get some pictures which are mostly of flowers. Most of the view is blocked by the adjoining houses in the area.
Visit the view point if you are in the area or else it is not much worth the effort to go all the way up.

You can see a lot from this view point. Adams peak, waterfalls, and others things. It’s a very nice place to visit in first day in Nuwara Eliya.

This was a great photo opportunity. There was also a chance to stop for refreshments and also to buy souvenirs.

Wonderful views, lovely walk
We took the bus from nuwara eliya busstation, up to shantipura (20rs). Maybe 20 minutes?
From shantipura you have great views over the region.
It looks like nobody knows this trip.
From there we walked back downhills (we are 60 and 70, easy to do).
Underway we made a stop at The Farmhouse, the new guesthouse , acces its on your left side .
We enjoyed the stunning views again, now sitting at the huge with fine chairs h and enjoying a freshly rice and cicken curry with plenty of vegetables from their garden.

Shanthipura is the highest situated village in Sri Lanka in terms of altitude. And there is a particular point termed as "Shanthipura view point" from where you can get a bird's eye view of the Nuwara Eliya town and the surrounding mountains.
But there is currently a construction being done there, by the Airforce which is supposed to be a look out point/tower kind of thing and if I heard it correctly, it's going to be 4-5 stories high. This is supposed to open somewhere in 2025. If my understanding of the height of the building is correct it will offer a spectacular experience. But right now, it's a rather less than average experience.
The google map directions are accurate. Its very close to Nuwara Eloya town. The Shanthipura road is quite wide and two SUVs can easily pass. However,at the last bit, you have to go down a narrower road and parking can be an issue if you go on a crowded day.
While there is a board saying the view point is closed, they have kept a small foot path around the construction and you can still see the Nuwara Eliya town by going down this circular footpath even though you may not be able to take a nice photo because of the houses and the electricity lines.
The weather there was cooler than in Nuwara Eliya and it was quite windy.
But overall, I would recommend to wait till the construction is completed.

Whilst I would not dispute the stunning scenery at Shantipura, there is absolutely no need to pay to climb a few steps up a concrete viewpoint to see the exact view you can see on the road up. It's yet another tourist trap in a country where tourist exploitation has become something of a national pastime. By all means walk up the hill, but forget about the viewpoint.

Want to fly from here it will be the best option to do. That much of interesting place and a good view point to see the Nuwaraeliya, tea bushes, oliphant tea factory , highest mountain in SriLanka Pedro thalagalla, kikiliyamana mountain, Gregory lake, lepord rock etc . These attractions you can see from this point. I am very lucky to say this to all.

We were lucky as the day was clear so we were able to appreciate the natural and scenic beauty of this quaint little town or village
