We had a guide who took us here and the journey was well worth it. very twisty road to the top, traffic was not too bad. The river is quite beautiful with lots of wildlife.

Makandawa forest is located in kithulgala .amazingly beautiful forest .not a lot of people go there as it is not that popular .but this place is just magical and it has several waterfalls also .

Went on a hike while staying at Kitulgala. Not a very difficult trek. On rainy days many leaches can be encountered!

nice to have a two km walk inside a rain forest with lot of leech's hanging around in your feet.you can see two waterfalls if you willing to spend more time in the forest
