The Mangrove Cave River Safari is one of many boat operators that take visitors along the Madu River to enjoy the scenary and attempt to see some wildlife. The boat trip is generally pleasant, but less impressive than I expected. There are also quite a few nocious boat engine fumes. Most disappointing is that the operators didn't give any real... More

Simply an opportunity to relieve you of money. Boat stopped at every place where you can spend it give tips. Saw very little, the only water monitor seen was the tame one feeding on a scrap of waste. Save your cash....!!!

It was amazing to see the turtle farms. The River Safari was awesome. Very Scenic. The restaurant we went for lunch was a big disappointment.

We had a pleasant boat trip with a very good driver. The mangrove cave was glorious and it was nice to be on such a huge area of water. We also enjoyed the fish nibbling that we could do. For this we had to pay extra. We were less keen on the stops at cinnamon island and the temple. Both... More

I was on the way to colombo with four other families and stopped in this place to have lunch on 12th december. It took more than one and half hours to serve food and it was terrible... when we wanted to speak to the manager, he wasnt there. Then we wanted to talk to the chef as food wasnt even... More

We had a great couple of hours on the river safari however we soon found out we were charged more than other people at our hotel (3000 LKR per person as opposed to the 1000 LKR pp others were paying) which was a little annoying! If you do this, take small notes with you too as you'll have the chance... More

It's a sham, may be even a scam! Well, to begin with, it's an ordinary boat ride, not a "safari". The boatman neither shared any details about the sights nor pointed towards anything specific during the tour. So in the end we learned nothing. We were promised a one and a half hour ride in the river, with the boat... More

Nice location just near by the madu river, and good food as well. Visit there with few demanding friends and they took care pf every single need of us. Little bit limited parking space but still they will accommodate you to manage it. Enjoyed staying out side table under mangrove.. loved it..

We paid 40 dollars for 2 people and 2 children for an early morning mangrove trip. Terribly overpriced! The boat trip that was supposed to take 2,5 hrs only took 1 hour because we skipped all the commercial stops for which you had to pay extra. Terrible experience
