This temple is part of many built along the coastline. It is very close to the more famous Tanah Lot, even though I believe this one is better and makes for better pictures.
Definitely worth a visit

Part of the Tanah Lot site and another small temple built onto the rock although accessible From the land. Again good sunset viewing so gets very busy around that time but good stop for photos.

When we visited the Pura Tanah Lot, we came to Pura Batu Bolong first. Both are made in a similar style, i.e., on a rock jutting into the ocean. The Batu Bolong Temple is connected to the mainland, however, by a narrow overpass.
The Temple is viewed against a backdrop of the Indian Ocean. This setting makes it exquisite.
Do note that there are 3 Pura Batu Bolong in Bali. Be sure to land up at the correct one.

Tuesday 10th September and we were on an all day tour of the Royal Lake and Temples Tour, which we booked through the Tui Representative at our Hotel.
Our first destination and stop was at Tanah Lot where there are 2 temples beside each other, including this one, Pura Batu Bolong, which we visited first.
We got our first glimpse of this spectacular sight as we walked along the coastal pathway towards the Temple.
The small Temple stands at the end of a rock jutting out into the sea. There is a hole in the rock which creates a natural bridge/causeway leading to the Temple.
Combine the waves crashing through the hole with the spectacle of the rock, the small Temple, creating an amazing sight, not to be missed.
It was not possible to enter the Temple, we walked as close as we could get.
There were sellers with stalls and hawkers about the place selling mostly what could be classified as tat. They could not detract from the this stunning place.

The rock structure is mind blowing, and the place can be crowded during sunset. The view of the sunset is superb!

This small temple is in the same location as the more famous Hindu Temple Tanah Lot. You really just have to turn around to see the other. The sunset views are quite beautiful but be prepared for lots and lots of tourists, Leaving the area after the sunset can be very congested with all the buses, vans, cars and scooters.
We left just before the sun dipped under the horizon which put us ahead of the crowd just in the nick of time.
Arrive early if you're interested in shopping the many market stalls.

I had read so much about Pura Batu Bolong which means temple of hollowed rock. I didnt realise that there are three with this name, at Canggu, Sengigi and Tanah Lot. When we went to the Tanah Lot temple, we had a pleasant surprise. Pura Batu Bolong was on its right and just a stone's throw away. It was low tide and the hollow was very clear with the waves breaking over it. So your entrance fee of 60K rupiah which is about $6 AUD gave you two attractions simultaneously. What a bonus! The scene was beautiful even without the sunset. There were stalls selling food and hats and clothes along the way.
