The Spa is near the Seminyak beach. The service is very good and the masseuses are really good. They know how much pressure to give and I really enjoyed it. Better than at MadesWarung spa Killiana or so.

We booked into the Melasti Beach Bungalows Spa the day before our wedding to have a little pampering. I booked in for the Hot Rocks Massage, A manicure and Pedicure. My husband booked in for a back massage, a facial massage & a pedicure.
When we arrived we were served a cold "Aqua" water and put into a room together for the massage. It was pure bliss! The rock massage was so relaxing! This was followed by my manicure then pedicure. My nails were shaped perfectly. I only had a colour put on my toe nails and the girl painted a tiny delicate flower on my big nail. It was nothing like the flowers you get out on the beach. My husband was impressed with his treatment too. It's something he wouldn't get done in Australia, so he was pleasantly surprised.
We had three hours of treatment each for under $70 Australian. It was the perfect way to spend the afternoon!
My mother got her hair and make-up done for the wedding there as well. They were both done before midday and survived way past out sunset wedding. She looked stunning.
When I am back in Bali, I will definitely go back to this Spa!!!

I walked into Spa Bali because it was so nice not to be harassed on the street to have a massage at their establishment. It really was pure luxury from the moment I walked through the large mahogany doors. The rooms are spacious, staff professional and well trained, and the package deal was well worth the money. I wanted to do a second spa day but got so sun burned I couldn't indulge in another massage.

I visited the Spa on the 10th August and it was the worst experience I have ever had in my life. I have been to Bali 14 times and always visited the Melasti Spa, I will never go again!

I had booked for a 3 hour package for a massage, facial and cream bath. The massage table face hole was so big it didn't support your head. Every time the girl pushed on your upper back you nearly chocked on the bed. The sarong that she covered me with was covered with oil and I question how many clients or days they get use out of it before washing it.

After that I was hustled into a room for my facial. The heavy handed therapist who I had to repeat gentle pressure continued to use firm pressure. When she wiped off the face scrub and she scratched my right upper eyelid. I have been on two course of antibiotics and it still hasn't healed. On top of that she continued to come and go out of the treatment room for reasons I later found out.

When I went to have my cream bath I decided to recount my money as I'd fallen asleep when my face mask was on. This was the icing on the cake. 200K was stolen and despite the therapist (if you could actually call her that) couldn't make eye contact at me denied the claim.

I was disgusted and appalled when I discretely brought this to the salon managers attention and all she wanted to do was offer me a 10% discount which didn't even cover a quarter of my losses, she wasn't even surprised by the theft. She called the security guard who then had the hide to look me up and down and said "I know your type. You trouble maker!" I said "No sir! You don't know my type! I come to Bali with my suitcase full of towels, books, reading glasses and medical supplies for your people. You don't know my type at all!" To top it off, when I was walking out the door in tears the security guard addressed the entire street in Bahasa Indonesian "The albino girl is crying because she had $20 stolen, like $20 is a lot of money to her!". I cried because I felt so hurt from a race that I placed trust in and have given so much to over the years, it doesn't matter if it's $20 or $200, it's the principal. I couldn't even be bothered to respond to these low vibrating thieves.

I am absolutely disgusted and appalled by all staff members. I have never come across such an attitude to a theft and poor customer service in all my travels to Bali. Don't even bother stepping foot in this spa.

I had previously had a back massage here about two years ago and the service was adequate without been exceptional. With this in mind, and our hotel been close by, I again booked with the Melasti. Upon my arrival I was told that the hairdresser had chosen to take another appointment over mine, despite my booking being confirmed and the first for the day for her. I was told that I could rebook for 'later' (whenever that was, I was never told) without any apology or attempt to rectify the problem. I'd go and book somewhere else, the service has slipped considerably.

Went here as I have previously been to the Seminyak salon and they were just amazing and I thought I would try this one as it was closer to our hotel. Big mistake.

I had a manicure and pedicure and though I was impressed with their hygiene, cleaning of tools and the fact that they have genuine OPI in their bottles, the end result was dreadful. I could have done it better myself blindfolded. The polish was outside of the nail bed, it was uneven and she even missed a second layer on several nails and I had to tell her.

I also went for a full body scrub, massage and flower bath. Oh my God! It was nothing like the one I previously had which was amazing and pampering. This one was horrible. The scrub was good, but the massage left me bruised all over my body. I kept telling the girl softer, softer, softer please, could you be softer and she said yes yes, but it was just the same. It was like being pinched and squeezed and poked with a stick. Never again.
The room was also very tired and worn down, the tub was incredible small and even though I am a fairly short person I still could not sit with my legs straight in the bath or even sink into the tub which made the whole experience quite awkward.

I wont be back here again and if I get a masseuse like the one I had again, I would up and leave as my body was so sore and bruised it was not even funny. I was just hoping that it would get better but it never did. Unfortunately I can not recommend this branch of Spa Bali, but other outlets would probably be better.

It is often said that it is the people that make or break your hotel experience and this is so true of the Melasti. I booked this hotel at the last minute after a disastrous experience elsewhere. I booked on line. When we arrived, the staff couldn't find my booking. There was a good reason for that, in my distracted state trying to find something for the kids while in a car, and before it got dark I had booked for the wrong month! The lovely staff member Puspa as so kind about my error, she said don't worry, I will sort something out and all will be ok, it will just take a bit longer. True to her word, she had it all sorted with the booking agent, no extra charges, enjoy our hotel. Puspa, thank you so much, you are a credit to your hotel and saved our holiday experience.
We stayed in the standard rooms for a night, these are good, but don't have an outside veranda which we love after the kids are in bed. We asked if there were any of the cottage rooms near the beach free, and were upgraded for much less than the advertised rate. These rooms are brilliant for a family. We have two young kids and all of us surf so the huge size was a plus for all the boards. I love the old Bali style hotels like the Melasti, you get a lot for a little, great value for money. Apart from the friendly staff, where nothing is too hard, we also loved all the great food nearby and waves for the whole family right out front. Would return and would recommend to others.

My husband and I came here every morning for a massage. Always good, the service was attentive and the massage was wonderful. After one massage with Pipit I requested her every time, her hands are magic. Couldn't recommend more

We have been coming to this spa for years every time we come to Bali. We had been told recently by a few friends that the standard had dropped but we wanted to give it a try for ourselves.

We booked for a 90 minute Balinese massage, it was horrible. When we got there we were welcomed by the air conditioner that had a continuous dripping sound throughout the whole massage, the ladies that didn't stop the chatter and the beds were terrible. I was thinking maybe we just got unlucky, let's try again tomorrow until I walked out and relaised we had only been in there 70 minutes, so 20 minutes short of what was requested. We were still charged the full 90 minute amount (which is already double compared to similar places around Bali, I never use to mind but now we do) looks like we had to learn the hard way, we will not be back!

This was my 2nd pedicure in Bali and the pedicure at melasti was 10 times better than the first. For an hour of foot pampering I paid 115000 less than $13 Au. Very clean and exceptional service.
