Very traditional temple, no dress code unlike other Kerala temples. Beautiful traditional architecture, quiet and peaceful. Wonderful place, no rush. Really serene.

Its one among the famous temples of Kerala. Its easily accessible from Alleppey , . Its a traditional Krishna temple and lots history attached to it. The Ambalappuzha Palpayasam , a special rice kheer is very famous and anyone who visits here should try once.

There is no dress code. But you should dress modestly. Men can wear Dhoti, but not lungi. You can also wear pants or jeans. Women can wear saree, salwar, pants etc. avoid micros or minis.

It is possible to visit the Ambalapuzha temple and return back to Alleppy in about 3 hours time if you leave early morning say around 6.30 am. I did not visit the St.Mary's church so can not give any information on that. All... More
