On our 5 day visit to Armenia we passed by this lake twice, on both sides. Many places to stop and appreciate its beauty. Also a couple of churches/monasteries for photos with the lake in the background. We also dined at an amazing restaurant that...More

Much cooler than Yerevan in August. Great for a swim. I recommend the northern or southern shores within 40 minutes from peninsula with the churches. Explore for yourself.

That is the biggest Armenian water reservoir so no wonder that there are located places for a summer vacations and that places are crowded in the season. The lake itself is very nice located. Blue water sorrounded with mountains.

Just go there, enjoy the view, listen to the stories, go up the stairs and take pictures. And when you come back home, tell your friends to visit it too. This is Armenia.

Attended a music festival and was honestly wowed by the local talent playing there on the public beach. Sadly, the public restrooms were just short of atrocious.

Not so long. Around 1.5 hours from yerevan. The easiest by taking tour. Public is a bit complicated because you need to change buses but its doable
