Kind of Bizarr-o Place

I think you have to be in the right mood to enjoy this place. I think it needs a good dusting, if that's possible. I sneeze for hours after being there for a few minutes.

Elsewhere is an art "museum" and art collective. The building housed a thrift shop that became the museum. All of the stuff is still there and isn't sold but is used by the artists to create works. Stop by if you want to see a unique enterprise. Looking around is free but it's suggested that you leave a donation.

My friend and I loved our trip to Elsewhere! We spent hours exploring the unique nooks and crannies, playing board games that were older than our parents, and writing in the confessatorium. if you do not enjoy truly digging deep and exploring to make a place special to you, you may not enjoy this wonderful space. The magic of it... More

I love this place, very unique and quirky and definitely worth the price. It's a must see in Greensboro- I've traveled all over the world and I've never seen an interactive art museum quite like this. Very fun! Worth stopping by.

My kids LOVED visiting this old store chocked full of art installations and old items dating several decades back. The kids explored, played and enjoyed the "scavenger hunt" that Elsewhere provided. I enjoyed the visit equally as much! And the best part was after several hours of being here- Mellow Mushroom pizzeria was just right across the street!

I could tell it was going to be bizarre. There was lots of stuff to look at but I wouldn't call most of it art.

We were celebrating my daughter's birthday in a restaurant nearby and decided to take a walk down Elm street since most of us have only been there once or not at all. We found this little shop to be very fun and entertaining. We plan on going again this year to see how it has changed. I'm not much for... More

Took my granddaughter here on the recommendation of a friend. This is one weird place! A lot of fabric and old toys in a very strange environment. At any moment, I expected to find myself lost in a horror movie. In fact if some horror movie director wants to shoot something in NC, I recommend he/she take a trip back... More

Not everyone thinks alike and in fact sometimes people think so far out of the box there has to be a place like "Elsewhere" for them to think and exercise their thoughts. As a commercial artist who is always collecting thoughts and visions so tights that anyone can understand the messaging, it was nice to see so much free thinking.... More

A very unique setting in which artists create works from salvaged, surplus or second hand, used materials, toys, objects of every imaginable type.
