We drove by here on a clear day with a big, blue sky. You can see many miles. The drive is the way to avoid driving through Gatlinburg. It is a major time saving shortcut with beautiful views.

Oh what a spectacular view of Gatlinburg. Thought it might be blah because of the rainy and cloudy weather from Florence. Wrong on my part. What a spectacular look into a well preserved gateway into the Great Smoky Mtns area.

I have been in Gatlinburg several times and always enjoy the view from the overlook. Was good to see the area recovering from the previous fire.

It appears that you were on the Gatlinburg Sky Lift rather than the Scenic Overlook. However, both offer beautiful views of downtown Gatlinburg. So glad you enjoyed the Sky Lift.
