The Gatlinburg Overlook is located on the Gatlinburg Bypass which runs between the Gatlinburg Spur and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Gatlinburg Spur runs between Pigeon Forge TN and Gatlinburg. The Bypass is accessible from the Spur or from the National Park.

There are four parking areas on the Bypass. You can exit your vehicle and take in the views. We recommend the 2nd and 3rd parking areas.

From the overlooks, you will see the entire town of Gatlinburg with its majestic mountain backdrop.

It never fails to amaze me, the pure absolute breathtaking beauty of the Smokey Mountains. We stop and admire each time we travel.

Want to view Gatlinburg as a whole from above? This is the view. My interest was an overview of last November's fire.

The trip to the scenic overlook is worth it we stopped at a lot of the overlooks on the way up. They were all beautiful! Sad to see the devastation.

A great view of the town. So sad to see the damage done by the recent fire. It gives a good perspective of the fire.

A must stop to view the majesty of Gatlinburg nestled in the beautiful Smoky Mountains! The mountains change the view at different times of day. May be smoky, may be clear, may even be a rainbow! Easy drive up..great road to by pass the town to get to the national park!

After driving the 30 miles from Cherokee through the beautiful Smokies, this drive was pale by comparison.

We agree that Great Smoky Mountains National Park between Cherokee NC and Gatlinburg TN is truly beautiful. There are lots of pullovers with scenic overlooks, waterfalls, hiking trails, picnic areas, and sometimes wildlife along the roadside. The Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook is limited to views of downtown Gatlinburg. More

who can pass on a 360 degree view of pure mountain breathless view. Cannot drive by without stopping to take in the natural beauty. It also had restrooms just incase the elevation pressure kicks in. We spent a good while exploring and taking lots of pictures. Plenty of parking, hiking trails and friendly faces.

Anyone coming to Gatlinburg needs to take the by-pass and check out the view of Gatlinburg. It's a great spot. Also if you're going to Pigeon Forge go this way to miss traffic in downtown Gatlinburg.
