- BubvivDublin, Ireland688 contributionsA great experience.Stunning views over the dam. Even the bridge crossing towards the Visitor Centre offers good photographic opportunities. The Visitor center is large, good gift store and a section to the right that offers lots of interactive posters and educational material. Head out the back door for more views of the dam. Don't forget to stamp your National Parks book!Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 March 2024
- Clint DRome, Georgia307 contributionsQuick must see (like a smaller Hoover Dam)This was worth stopping to see. We spent about 20 mins here. You cannot walk across the dam, but from the visitors center, you can see from several good angles the dam. There is a small museum type area where you overlook the dam inside, as well as a small gift shop. You can walk across the bridge as well.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 April 2024
- Lauren RWynantskill, New York439 contributionsWhat a find! What a "hidden gem" that we didn't plan on stopping at!! We were spending 2 days in Page AZ, and came across Glen Canyon after checking out Lake Powell. It was great! There was so many hands on exhibits that our boys loved, an informative movie and you even got to go out and check out the dam outside. This is definitely worth a stop to check out!Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 19 April 2024

One of the great attractions in Page is the Glen Canyon Dam. It is the dam that creates Lake Powell and it is the dam which provides great places for viewing the canyon and the dam itself. We visited both the overlook as well as the bridge for incredible views. Again in so many places this would be a premier attraction but here it is simply just another site. In no way is this meant to diminish but rather to say so many things are incredible here.

Stopping at the dam was not in our original plans, but so glad we did! Make sure you bring a mask because they were still on Covid masking precautions inside. Really great to show our kids the free interactive exhibits on how hydroelectric power works. Really great views of the dam from inside the building.

Beautiful view of the whole area. Not sure if this is the one but we went next to the Wingate hotel; you walk down steps and then have the vista in front of you. Water levels were low as this was November but the day was sunny and it was beautiful to see.

The walk is tricky and you need to be slow and careful and it's not a traditional paved walkway with steps. All downhill going, and uphill coming back. It's more of a hike on rocks. There was a handrail but it was very hot to the touch in May.

This is a great scenic view point which we discovered when going through Page on a trip which we had thrown together with little time to plan in order to replace another trip in December 2021-January 2022 which we had to cancel due to the omicron problems.
It is free and a short drive off of the main highway and town. It has a parking lot with a short walk down the rocks and steps to a large viewing area with great views of both the dame and the river and canyon. The immediate rocks of the location are also striking and scenic. Some of the steps may be a bit slippery for some but it's worth a few minutes definitely.

Serious? I couldn’t stop marveling at this immense work of pure Marvel! Wow 🤩. Please do yourself a favor and please enter the parking area, proceed to the dam and the most incredible views in Arizona! It’s free, doesn’t take long, walk across the bridge and stop and take pictures of the beauty of both the Dam and views.
What a sight to see !
Possibly one of my highlights of my road trip through Arizona!

The dam is so big that you can't miss it driving into Page. So of course, we wanted to see it. The displays are great to describe what it took to make the dam , ...but also, how it covered a huge (and beautiful) and canyon, bigger than the Grand Canyon. Enjoy the photos.

This is a great view point of the canyon and the dam. Parking is limited, and the trail to get down to the view point can be a little challenging. Definitely not suited for folks with limited mobility. Children and the elderly should not go on the trail alone as the trail is slippery and uneven in some parts. This area can get very windy with lots of sand flying around. There is no charge to enter this area and parking is free. Enjoy.

The views were the amazing part but the hike down to see the dam was somewhat difficult to traverse. The metal pipe that was the handrail was very hot to the touch and you couldn't walk up/down one section without grasping the pipe. The sand was very slick on top of the rocks. Take your time and be careful.
