We drove 89A from Kanab to Page. Enjoyed every mile, particularly along the vermilion cliffs as we approached the Navaho Bridge over the Colorado. Enjoyed talking with the Navaho venders selling their crafts, and regret not buying jewelry directly from them. Fine stuff, better than what we saw at Cameron Trading Post.

There are hardly any signs to get here & no amenities (absolutely none that we found, not even a National Park Monument sign or a bathroom). We were driving from Page to Phoenix & decided to stop. I wouldn't make a special trip to see this but if it's on your way, it was pretty.

We used Paria Outpost and Outfitters to tour the White Pocket area of Vermilion Cliffs National Monument. We chose this area because you did not need a permit. We were not disappointed in the least as our tour exceeded expectations. We met our guide Eric at the Paria Outpost at 8 in the morning. The ride to the White Pocket... More

This whole area is so picturesque I had to be careful not to drive off the road and end up in the Colorado river! We stopped at the Navajo visitors center which was very informative and clean washrooms. The cliff dwellers site was small but interesting, glad I did not have to live in them. Have lots of room on... More

You can never see enough spectacular red rock formations. My only disappointment was there were no dedicated spots to stop and look, just a place to pull over for pictures.

Must take route 89A to see these beautiful cliffs. Saw a condor and deer. Best route to north rim of Grand Fanyon

driving US 89A is a good alternative, less crowded and with wonderful views of the cliffs at every turn and bend

Leaving Page you take 89 S to 89 ALT then back to 89 at Kanab. This scenic drive was ever changing and always so beautiful and filled with texture and color and depth. I was constantly pulling over to walk around and take pictures and absorb the poetic surroundings. It's a good 1/2 day trip and so worth it. Not... More

Almost deserted, very underrated we stumbled upon the area after missing our turn off and dam I'm glad we did! The scale of the grand canyon is almost too much to handle when your looking at it but this was simply stunning almost devoid from people and one of the best parts of our trip!

The drive from Page to the North Rim (Grand Canyon) via the southern edge of the Vermillion Cliffs is simply spectacular. It is worth stopping at the bridge over the Colorado River then the road travels beneath the cliffs for many miles on its way to the Kaibab Plateau. One worthwhile stop is at a spot which protects ancient Indian... More
