In love with that place.... The snow makes a beautiful contrast with the sculpture .... should be a spectacular place for wedding photos.

I think that Prospect Park is in many respects a much cooler park than Central Park. Both were expertly designed by Frederick Law Olmsted but this one features Grand Army Plaza at the mouth. It is spectacular,

Not only is it the main entrance to our second amazing park from Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. It is also a tribute to the Union Army and Navy from the civil war and adorned with some amazing statuary.

Next to the park, museum & gardens, this Plaza is in the middle of lots of the important stuff of Brooklyn, large and grand, but not especially pretty.

Come here on a Saturday, and catch the little farmer's market that springs up. You can get some awesome produce, like fresh harvested maitakes or ostrich sausage. Otherwise, its just a big statue standing in front of the entrance to the park.

In the middle of a "run of the mill" roundabout take the time to check out this beauty. The arch is adorned with statues. I took the time to notice and am glad that I did.

My favorite times to visit are early on a Saturday morning or any evening at sunset when the weather is warm. The fountain is on during all but the coldest winter months. My only regret is that there are not enough benches to sit on. But it's beautiful and peaceful.
