Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had lovely visit here . If you call ahead the church historian will guide around the church and tell its place in the history of abolition and community service. There is no charge but donations to restoration of art work accepted. Henry Ward Beechers sermons,Lincoln's pew,Tiffany windows-really a remarkable place

I'm a member of Plymouth for a number of years now. It has an interesting history and a church historian that gives very interesting information about it. I'm not certain exactly when the tours are given other than Sunday, but with advance notice I think one could be arranged to meet your schedule. It's historically outstanding minister was Henry Ward Beecher, brother of Harriet Beecher Stowe who wrote Uncle Toms's Cabin. Clearly both were very committed to the abolitionist cause.
Lincoln, who worshiped at the church twice, is said to have commented " If it wasn't for those Beecher kids, I might have prevented the war." Nice location in Bklyn Heights with great lawns both front an back. If you are interested in seeing NYC outside of Manhattan, this part of Brooklyn is a great place to visit with individual Brownstone houses that date back to the 1800.s and site of the Revolutionalry War
Battle of Brooklyn.

If you are visiting Brooklyn Heights you should not miss Plymouth Church, where Henry Ward Beecher preached and fought against slavery, and well-heeled locals go to church. The church has a real sense of history. Abraham Lincoln once worshipped here! A not-to-be-missed Brooklyn site.

Part of our particular big apple tour, and learned so much by visiting this church. Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, Branch Rickey, abolitionist movement all have a part of the history.

Wonderful information about the role of this church and her famous minister, Henry Ward Beecher, in the abolition movement. Sit in the pew that Lincoln used on one of his two visits to the church and learn about Brooklyn before the Civil War.

This is one of the oldest churches in the city. Lincoln Was said to have worshipped here as did the pilgrims. Located in Brooklyn Heights on a beautiful plot of land. So quiet and serene!

Lincoln worshiped here and I had a lovely tour one Sunday. I'm not sure if they have tours every week but after the service. I attended the service as well which was a good thing because the tour was not well attended and I think if I had been late there might not have been anyone for the tour.
