This is one of the worlds great bars. I know there is going to be one in every city soon, but you have to go to the original and that is in Brooklyn. Simply a must if you like the old school dive bar.

Who knows why these guys think being rude to people is going to get them anywhere but they were really rude to us too- mainly the woman on the shoes. she needs serious training or getting a different job where she doesn't have to actually speak to anyone- clearly, smiling for a few hours a day is too much for... American service is supposed to be up there with the best in the world. And this place certainly lives up to that, if by best you mean the rudest, and by earth you mean universe. Having genuinely forgotten to leave a tip for the beer i bought, i was then aggressively told on my next visit to the bar that... More

Has potential to be an awesome place but the rudeness of the staff let it down for me. Has a bowling alley that we were unfortunately unable to get a game after waiting for a couple of hours. Decent beer selection though. Would come back one day to give it another go and hopefully by then the staff would have... More

Beer and bowling at a whole different level! Pool tables too and a band in the back. Had a great time with family and friends! I would definitely recommend another round! The alleys weren't ultra modern, but fun nonetheless!

Came here for a friend's birthday celebration and it was very different. The drinks are really good and cheap, the atmosphere is very rustic and hipster. Unfortunately you have to wait a long time to get a lane for bowling =( , we had issues with the machine setting up names and etc ( it is a very old machine)... More

I recently just celebrated my 30th birthday here. I did enjoy myself, but I have to say the girl at the register was exceptionally rude to every person that walked in. Apparently, you can pay for up to a two hour game, but she only offered us to play for one hour. When we later learned two hours was allowed... More

Went here for a birthday party on a Saturday afternoon. The place was crowded but manageable. They rotate lanes based on a ticket system and don't take reservations. It's a total dive and really old lanes but works for what it is. We had some pitchers of beer and ordered some great pizza from a place not too far away.

My wife and I went to the Gutter with a friend whilst on holiday in NYC recently. We had been told about this place and went with an open mind. What agreat place. The atmosphere is superb, the beer is great and the all round sense is one of a place were you can go and really let your down... More
