Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is one of the neighborhoods close-in to downtown Brooklyn that is changing rapidly, becoming much more rich. Full of architectural gems, pretty blocks with huge trees. Served by the subway, some streets of cafes and cool restaurants.

What a delightful trip to this lovely area of Brooklyn. Went to the fort Greene flea market that was outstanding. Walked all through the historic district with some of the finest examples of brownstone homes and tree lined streets. Found the area to be incredibly clean. Highly recommend an outing to fort Greene area while in Brooklyn

On the way to Brownstoner's Brooklyn Flea I walked up DeKalb Avenue and discovered an Arts and Crafts Market on the far corner of Ft. Greene Park right next to a Farmer's Market. Turns out this Artisan Market is at this location every Saturday during Spring, Summer and Fall. I took a few photos which are attached. Serendipity in action. Happened to be a day that some Jazz Musicians, Including Spike Lee's brother, were performing here.

Brooklyn's Fort Greene neighborhood, east of Downtown Brooklyn & north of Park Slope, is yet another of Brooklyn's wonderful old brownstone districts. Its centerpiece is the hilly Fort Greene Park, which boasts the Prison Ship Martyrs Monument (1909), commemorating the 11,500 American patriots died in the 11 British prison ships anchored in nearby Wallabout Bay, 1776-83 - more than the ones who died in battle during the Revolutionary War. Next to this is the park's visitor center, which has a small but fairly interesting museum.

Home to Pratt University and block after block of historic brownstones. Just walking around this part of the city is enough for an enjoyable experience. There are plenty of great restaurants and cheap cool bars. Fort green park is really nice.. maybe not as nice as prospect park but definitely worth checking out. A very diverse friendly community.

We've lived in Fort Greene for over 11 years and yes it has changed, but it still has a heart and soul. We have some great restaurants, the BAM cultural district, tree lined streets, great parks, food trucks, and beautiful architecture.

Id been in Fort Greene when I lived in Brooklyn as it is adjacent to Downtown Brooklyn and Bedford Stuyvesant amongst other notable areas. The housing stock here is very impressive looking with Brownstones and Brick Rowhouses but I often get confused as to where this neighborhood starts and stops with all the current gentrification going on. Its rents are pretty high as it is in the epicenter of the near Manhattan parts of Brooklyn where rents have began to skyrocket and while the neighborhood can be pleasent with many restaurants and bars to attend, its own identity isnt fully defined. Overall, it could be good to live in, it is near everything that matters, but it has no authenticity compared to other parts of Brooklyn some of which are not too far away.

We wanted to go to the Brooklyn Flea and were a little confused by the multiple locations. But we figured out this one was open when we could go, so we made the effort to find it. Parking was a bit tough, but eventually found street parking. All the vendors were set up within a fenced area (actually a playground). There were lots of food options, crafts, and used clothing. We a a great time looking around and are very glad we went.
