We live in the area and this place is the best home cooking place in the area. The menu is diverse and fresh ingredients and different flavor of spices mixed in. Sam the owner and chef knows what he is doing. Best of all you can ask to sample before you buy!!! Great place.

Great food and a wonderful variety. Staff is very competent and friendly. What I really appreciated was the taste samples they gave me of multiple items to help me decide what I should get. I was impressed with the number of regulars that seemed to frequent this place. That tells you it's good when they keep coming back.

Food does not come any better. Think of your favorite restaurant in New York -- it can be a 5 star place or a hole in the wall. The Family Store is either as good or better. If you don't believe me, walk in one day and ask any customer milling about. One of the great things is that Sam... More

We spent a week in NYC and decided to spend some time away from the usual tourist attractions and explore Brooklyn by foot. It was close to 2 and we still hadn't eaten lunch so we asked a friendly looking local as we waited for a light to change. He pointed us across the road to The Family Store. We... More

I love this store! So much variety, from such a small space - all made with 100% tender love & care. No matter if it's your first visit or 100th, you are welcomed with warmth and kindness by the store owners, and encouraged to try any of the dishes.

I was in Brooklyn working on genealogy, and while my friend was finding her roots at the Scandinavian deli next door (about to close its business), I wandered into The Family Store -- wow! I'm so glad I did! I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, and also bought hummus, tabouleh, two kinds of stuffed grape leaves, and baklava to take... More

We've been customers at the Family Store for years and the name definitely fits this business. We are always greeted by name and offered to sample the foods. The store has a very cozy and warm atmosphere, and the products are of the highest quality. Try it once and you are sure to be back!

This place has a variety of middle eastern foods, most of them home made under the direction of Palestinian ownership/ Some excellent, some resold and made elsewhere and some that does not quite make it. It has a wide variety of nuts and desserts as well. SOme of the desserts such as kanaifi are etherial and others are fair. The... More

Visited The Family Store for the first time today based on a friend's recommendation. It was wonderful. Small shop chock full of yummy things, it's like a throwback to small town America. Got the falafel sandwich which was divine and the rice pudding (also great). The owner gave me a sample of their signature cheesecake which was superb. Lovely atmosphere,... More

I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich a few days ago to go. I told Sam to hold the hot sauce (which is included in the price) and to add some tahini. He charged me 80 cents for the tahini. He said it was an extra topping. I said that I left out the hot sauce so wouldn't that compensate for... More
