Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My sister & I went to the christmas eve party. It was different! Upon checking in we were told it was a mandatory costume party. So we were led to a wagon outside the club where we had to PAY for a costume and then we could enter. We had glitter make up done and party accessories, like hats. We spent $20 on that. (each) Then we spent another $5 for coat check, that was also mandatory. We found out at we entered the club. While inside it had 3 areas to visit. We ultimilty had a good time but it was extremely crowded & I only got to order a drink once. I literally could not make it back to ANY of the bars to order more alcohol. We enjoyed the experience itself. It was unique and different.**** I would suggest buying tickets in advance and adults only.

We did not know what to expect but had a great time. Had tickets for a Burlesque Show but that wasn't exactly what we got - final act was a completely naked guy called Tigger. MC was great. Drinks prices not shown - $14 is too high for us so first one was our last one. The party goes on after the show and sounded like ti would have been a lot of fun to stay if we could have.

SO MUCH FUN! I highly recommend catching one of their show's! Being from out of town, I wasn't expecting such great production! Their acrobatic shows were unbelievable, from the lighting, sound, stage and costumes! Only one complaint - not enough washrooms! The place was very crowded and the line for the washroom was much to long. If you need to use the facilities, recognize this early so you have some time to wait.

Although the costumed performers were talented, the disorganization and difficulty of the experience made it not worth the while. They changed the time of the show last minute after the tickets were purchased and did not email or send any notifications. Apparently there was some Facebook post but for those of us who don’t have Facebook, we did not see it. So we showed up at 3pm and were told it wasn’t until 6pm, and had to wait around for three hours. Then when door’s finally did open, half of it wasn’t set up and we waited outside in the heat for a long time. It took two more hours for the party to actually get started, and you had to pay extra for a lot of the activities. Overall was not run very well, not by any fault of the employees there, but by the way it was managed.

No more costumes required. This party was amazing, 4 years ago. Now, they let anyone and everyone in… even if you’re wearing a full on suit. This place has gone downhill and become a basic tourist trap with people not willing to participate.

So I come from the days of Studio B, Exit, Tandem, etc, and the new club scene around here is awful. It caters to tourists and not locals, so it brings in a sleazy crowd from jersey and long island - bushwick people dont hang out here. The music is actually usually decent, but the bartending sucks so you will always wait about 40 mins for a drink, and there is a high chance someone will walk right into you and spill it anyway. Bathrooms are disgusting, and they have fake, pretend play parties where they blab about consent in the doorway but women get harassed like crazy inside. Dudes start fights constantly (again, sleeze from new jersey and long island...), and its always an otherwise very aggressive vibe with the crowd. About half the people actually dance, and about half flex their muscles and try and start friction with those around them. The bouncers are idiots, they cant stop or break up anything, but ironically will just select random people to throw out of the club late at night when it gets too full (regardless of how you are behaving - even if you spend $100 on drinks!!!). This place is a joke, and its just a scam for HoY to earn money for their burning man camp. The club just sucks, Ive gone about 15 times and never once had a good time, just varying degrees of how bad it sucked. If youre a tourist, Im sure you'd be impressed.

We saw a mixed media show of the movie "Wizard or Oz" (edited) with a live soundtrack of a Pink Floyd "tribute band" playing "Dark Side of the Moon" combined with aerialists, bubble machine, and I don't know what else. It was the most amazing experience. Please don't confuse the House of Yes with the Metropolitan Opera House (or vice versa). My ears rang for two hours afterwards. You have to pick and chose what you see at the HOY but if you do so you can find some very remarkable experiences. My wife and I (with our 40s something son) were by far the most senior there. But you are only as old as you think you are so don't let age dissuade you if you lean too this type event. It can get a bit crowded before the doors open so if you are claustrophobic then you will not do well waiting to get in.

House of Yes New Years Eve Ball was a complete waste of money. I truly would like to be reimbursed for the worst night. It was 100 completely false advertised. The space was horribly decorated, the entertainment was subpar and the rooms to explore were freezing cold and port a potties out side. Ridiculous.

We went to House of Yes for NYE and it was the absolute WORST experience I've ever had.
1. Coat check was an absolute nightmare. Not a great way to start the night with waiting in a coat line for an hr! To add to this, they lost one of our coats and it was a freezing night! Incredibly unprofessional and completely unorganized!
2. They promised a champagne bar from 9-12am and ran out super early!
3.There was no music in one of the rooms and it was 11:45pm! I had to tell the DJ to put on some music and at least count us down into the new year. To have one of their patrons have to tell their DJ to put music on and a countdown for NYE is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable!
4.The extra rooms were not open on arrival, causing extreme overcrowding in the other rooms and a very unpleasant and distasteful experience for what was supposed to be a "grand ball".
5. I wrote them an email expressing my disappointment and I didn't even get a response. Thanks a lot House of Yes FOR THE WORST START TO MY YEAR! You promised a traditional House of Yes extravagant entertainment and we did not receive that. Not only that you couldn't even respond to my email! I do not recommend this venue AT ALL! So disappointed. Don't expect a reply if you email them either.
