You can fish here, play, cricket, soccer, baseball, football, race model cars . No model airplanes or drones here. NYCPD helicopter squadron or driving school is here. Many area's are off limits but otherwise a good time can be had when they have their festivals.

I wish I could say that this is the weirdest place I have ever camped but it is certainly one of the more interesting. "Camp store"/Registration closes at 1600 and there is no fee box or camp host to register with after hours like they...More

I had reservations at the Amelia Earhart Loop. I arrived after 6:00 PM and could not find where to check in, let alone find my camping spot. After driving on old rutted and scarey tarmacs (because some folks use these grounds as there private place...More

We stayed 4 of the 5 nights we had booked. The site is an old air field (historic and very unique.) The RV spots are on the tarmac with some grassy area. Tent sites are walk-ins and nice. The new restrooms and showers are great!...More

Easy passport stamp - in fact, there's one for the Ryan Visitor Center, one for Camp Gateway, a bonus biplane stamp, and supposedly one for Breezy Point, although I got handed one for Riis Park. Everything else is meh. The Discovery Room had someone napping...More

Aviation history at its best. Being part of the National Park Service (NPS) keeps this area open. The museum is small but informative and the rangers are very helpful. You can also get your NPS passport stamped here. Across the street at the marina is...More

Went with my son Ho wanted to see the NYC's first airport Small museum and shop, but you have access to the original runway. The hangars are classic Art Deco. We couldn't get in that day to the buildings with some aircraft but would have...More

It's just great that it's possible to camp so close to Brooklyn and NYC. But! The camping does not fit normal campsite standards; the places are small, the people are very loud and there's no one controlling. The airplanes make sleeping difficult and one you...More

I think if you go to the Camp Office (by the big aircraft hanger) at the campsite they should be able to help you. They are there 9-5 and I think until 8p.m. Fri & Sat.
