I would have given it 5 stars, but the guy running the operation gave me a serious case of the heebie geebies. The two ladies that were running the aurora operation were really cool and incredibly helpful!

People have a lot of advice on where you should go to view the Northern Lights and depending on how active the Aurora is, sometimes it's easier than others. Skiland was my preference because no matter which direction the lights were dancing, you have unobstructed...More

I grew up in Utah. There are no mountains like that here. Skiland does have some good hills though and we come here often. The chairlift is a bit slow, but it does the job. The food is yummy and you always see a familiar...More

Nice place and nice lodge to view the aurora. It is very far from the city so no light around will interrupt the view of the aurora

Traveled to the area to view the aurora borealis, and went skiing here during the daytime. It was a balmy 20 F. Don't expect big powder- they get limited snow, but keep it well groomed. Not busy at all--had to wait for 2 people in...More

For $30 bucks a person, you get a warm cabin, coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, and a friendly staff member who will wait up till 3 AM so you can catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.

Hello! We definitely recommend coming to Fairbanks to see the Northern Lights. While they are hard to predict, you have a better chance with the longer night hours and further North. There are bigger ski resorts near... More
