More than just a boat ride! Board the Sternwheeler Riverboat Discovery for one of the most unique Alaskan experiences available! This three-hour cruise will take you into the heart of Alaska and introduce you to a family who has made the rivers of Alaska a way of life for five generations. You will see a bush floatplane takeoff alongside the boat, visit the home and kennels of the late four-time Iditarod winner Susan Butcher and see her champion sled dogs in action. Be immersed into the ancient Athabascan Indian culture when our Alaskan Native Guides take you on a personalized tour of the Chena Indian Village.

You get to see a float plane take off, see an Ididerod dog kennel along the banks of the river and then get off the boat to visit a re-created Athabascan Village. The ship's guides discussed the wildlife, history, geology and customs of the region.

Lovely paddle wheel boat which quietly takes you along the Chena river. It has a native Indian camp you see and visit, dog sled live exhibit, float plane show and many other interesting points of interest.

I really thought I'd be bored by this tour, but it was so informative with a lovely young crew to tell you all about the native early life as well as the current life style. Young people get pilot license before drivers license.
