We visited in September with the golden yellow fall colors appearing. Lovely trail around the lake with plenty of benches and a few decks overlooking the lake. Very much recommend.

The trails for hiking and the nice lake are nice for scenery and bird photography. The quiet lake is nice. We saw many cranes flying above and water fowl in the lake.

Lovely little spot, easy but pretty walk. we did get a little mosquito trouble, but that was all. Take an hour and go for a walk in a nice little preserve.

Nice easy stroll around the lake offers the change to view ducks and geese in their natural habitat. Do bring bug spray as the mosquitoes will carry you off for dinner otherwise.

Thanks for the review, Howard. Some years are worse than others for the bugs...but happy you made it through!

This is literally in the backyard of where we were staying. Got the cool opportunity to see a moose and some baby seagulls. The walk is about 1 mile and easy and flat. Signage around the lake to explain some things, and a hide to...More

Enjoyed a pleasant walk on a crisp cool morning but walked without bug spray. I would highly recommend spraying with big spray before setting out. Lots of birds, geese, rabbits and squirrels but didn’t see any big game. We will go back in the evening...More

Those mosquitoes can be a bit troublesome, but it depends on the year and time of day. We hope you made it back in the evening!

Wedgewood Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful area next to Bear Lodge at Wedgewood Resort in Fairbanks, AK. There are some well-groomed, hard-pack dirt paths that meander through a wooded area that lead to a nice sized pond. At this point, the path leads around a...More

Very beautiful trail system, practically anyone can manage it. I used to see moose on the trail. Great location, and so accessible - just off College Road.
