We drove here heading to Chena Hot springs for the day. We saw 6 moose and some amazing scenery. The water ways are very inviting for canoeing or kayaking. Lots of pull off areas and trails in the area. Well worth taking some time and...More

Hot springs were fun, ice museum was over-rated. Many other family-oriented activities would be enjoyed by all.

What a wonderful location. Not quite a 'tourist' location that one would travel to visit per se - but an absolutely great place to visit. Picnics, moose watching, watching the salmon run and even a few nights of overtly clear sky and high light activity....More

Went there to have dinner and use the outdoor hot springs. Dinner, apart from the outstanding tomatoe/basil bisque, was at best edible. Prices are outrageous for poor quality. Cottage cheese in my meal was bad, waiter didn't seem to care at all, just cleared it...More

Driving the road to Chena River in the fall is an excess of aspens in gold. It is stunning. We looked for, and found, moose. We also checked out campsites for future trips. It is very lovely.

We have been there several times. It's an excellent place for a picnic or BBQ, just to relax and enjoy the view of the lakes. There are facilities for boating and fishing or lying on a beach in the summer, if that is your thing....More

We had a cookout for the wedding party and anyone that was from out of town. The place is great, great fire pit, horse shoes, and we had a corn throw game. They have a big grill for cooking, it was just a great time.

Well worth the drive of 58 miles to the hot springs area. Scenery is excellent. Drive is relaxed. Wild life may be seen. More than two-thirds of the road is very smooth and not affected by perma frost. That which has been affected is kept...More
