This historic plantation wasn't in the center of historic Fredericksburg and wasn't; destroyed in the Civil War. The grounds are now pretty small. But it was easy to get to and the tour (by a student from Mary Washington University) was interesting.

We've been visiting Kenmore for over a decade. Standing exhibits and house tours coupled with ever changing activities, shows, and fairs make it an interesting local history favorite. We love to watch Shakespeare on the Lawn in summer time.

There is an interactive museum here, and children can lear of early colonial trading. The house is one floor and easily toured with a guide. Many interesting pieces of furniture and stories about the family and the house.
