Look, there are the superplexes with every latest release that's got all the endurance of a cotton candy meal. Fun. Filling. Fleeting. Then there are places you can go to see classics, even stuff high faultin' enough to be _film_. that'll stay with you. Coolidge...More

A neighborhood institution and community destination, this indie nonprofit theatre is a great place to catch both new releases and classic films. Special events - including kids' cinema and midnight showings, directors' talks and more - make the Coolidge a "must-do" when visiting Brookline. Added...More

It's a well-run theater with multiple viewing rooms, very comfortable, with a large snack counter and a wine bar for late afternoon and evening performances.

If you enjoy community theatres the Coolidge Corner Theater is quintessential. Art Deco style from 1933 set up with a bar in the lobby you will love this place. Sound was great and the seats comfortable (although not the first class airline seats in some...More

I have been going to this cinema for over 30 years. They show a good display of independent movies. They have many special events - we saw Liv Ulman discuss an Ingmar Bergman film “Autumn Sonata”. Very, very interesting

I love this place. No IMAX no 3D but that doesn’t matter. Great bar, great events and great staff make up for that!

CCT looks and feels its age--it opened in 1933! But if you can do without reclining seats, it is worth your movie $$: great homemade popcorn with real butter, baked goods and artisan chocolates, ice cream & fancy popsicles, beer and wine, friendly staff with...More

It's like time travel; a real pre-war (II) movie experience. Popcorn just tastes better in that place. Don't go there to watch Terminator XXI, rather take in the latest indie film or a re-run of Casablanca. Beer and wine is available in the lobby.

This is a nice small cinema with a good selection of movies. Prices are fair! However, a couple of not so good points.. very difficult to get someone with a wheelchair or other walking aid in and seated comfortably. Seats are very narrow and not...More

Jonny Depp was there last night with other lead actors for the world premier of his new film, "Black Mass". That was probably one of the few times men wore ties and women wore evening dresses to the CC. Other than that... More
