I am always inspired when i visit the National Cemetary. Wife's father and mother are burried there as well as myself and my wife will be. As a veteran it holds a special meaning. Go when all the wreathes are placed at Christmas.

My dad and grandparents are buried here so it feels very peaceful and loving to me, but historical, it's very impressive. I always go by the north side of the cemetery before I leave every time and see the graves of the unknown soldiers. It's...More

The folks that keep up the Fort Smith National Cemetery are very polite and helpful. The grounds itself are neat and the grass is kept trimmed at all times. It is very respectful of our deceased vets.

Beautiful grounds, so much history all in one place. The office has a brochure detailing a guided walking tour of the grounds. One of my heroes buried here is BG William Darby, MOH.

The Fort Smith National Cemetery is a beautiful peaceful site that serves as the resting place for nearly 14,000 dedicated armed forces personnel and spouses. Rolling hills, tended grass, and trees combine to support this awe-inspiring experience. This cemetery is exceptionally well maintained and it...More

If you're touring Ft. Smith, you'll probably want to make a short stop at the National Cemetery. It's only a few minutes' walk from various other attractions (the national historic site, the Trolley Museum, etc.) and has plenty of interesting graves. Judge I.C. Parker is...More
