This museum is the local history of Fort Smith. It details businesses, the history of the physical building of the city and some of the people who established the city after it was more than just an Indian fort. There is also a module on Judge Parker, which is to be expected. The replica drug store is pretty neat, but... More

Its like going back in time to the True Grit days. You expect to see John Wayne. Very interesting with lots of artifacts and memories of the old times in Ft. Smith and surrounding area.

The Arkansas Martin Luther King Commission is planning a program at the museum and the staff was extremely helpful with our questions. Also they have interesting exhibits that reflect the rich history of Fort Smith.

A small but effective presentation of local history that does an excellent job of presenting the life and challenges of early life in Fort Smith. Antique vehicles, artifacts, and historical presentations are supported with well-done descriptions and written histories that add depth to the artifacts. Prices are reasonable for the effort put into the quality displays. The gift shop is... More

The museum has displayed so many wonderful items about the history of this great town. Soon to have a display on the radio and television history of this area.

This museum is in our hometown. So we have been there on a number of occasions. I have gone on several occasions with my son during his years of being a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout. School trips. Bringing friends to learn about our city who were visiting from out of state. This museum has a clear and excellent... More

Make sure you stop by The Museum of History. Located in a historical building you will experience things like a 100 year old apothecary, old cars and historical finds from Fort Smith residents. Have an old fashioned ice cream soda and travel back to a time when everything made sense.
