We enjoyed the lovely natural beach of Tybee. The wooden pier of the beach is free to enter and provides a great view, particularly during sunrise and also fishing opportunities. The high tides often leave back water and aquatic animals in different patches on the beach. There are plenty of seagulls all around the beach. The surf during the high... More

The beach was nasty, over crowded and did I say nasty ... some kind of sticks were all over the sand , but you could borrow a rake from the stand and clear you off a spot to put a towel .. WHAT.. REALLY ??!!!! SO many ppl you could hardly see the water and the ones that were at... More

The beach: it looked pitiful and un-welcoming. The beach accesses were few and far between and there was no decent parking available at a reasonable rate. The lighthouse: one of the artifacts on display at the lighthouse museum was chicken bones. Seriously... chicken bones. Another was a peach pit. We paid money for this? The art community: non-existent and not... More

Since my last visit, the town has decided to cover the city budget on the backs of visitors. There 7 day parking meters on every free space of land, and they run from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pay for parking at 7 am on a Monday morning in February? Please.....There are many fine beaches along the Atlantic to visit... More

Tybee is a great beach with a cute artist community near by. I live in the area and if I'm only looking for beach this is not my frist choice but if I'm looking for eclectic shopping to go along with my beach day this is where I head. It is nice that they have public bathrooms.

The beach was okay once the tide came in (there is a HUGE difference between where the water line was in the morning to where it was just before sunset). The parking situation was horrendous. I was almost ready to say just forget it and we absolutely love the beach. We are not in a hurry to return and will... More

We had a wonderful time at Tybee beaches but it could have been a hassle if we had gone with the crowd. First tip: GO EARLY! We were parked an unloading at 9am and left the beach at about 11am to catch lunch. The traffic on Route 80 coming from Savannah and the crowds on the beach were much lighter... More

The beaches are nice & uncommercialized, but there are no showers to clean up & the bathrooms are undesirable & need a serious facelift, especially on the north end.

Near the historic lighthouse, very crowded and unpleasant. I won't be in a hurry to go back to Tybee Island in general--the parts we saw were mostly tacky.
