I don't understand why the powers that be don't appreciate tourists. Never have I been to beach town where you pay to park for beach, shopping, and even restaurants. I loved it, but won't go back because of parking situation. Why don't merchants, restaurant owners,...More

It was easy to get here from Savannah. About 1/2 hour trip. Just park along the designated streets and pay for the metered parking. Walk to boardwalk to the beach. The beaches are quaint with sand & water. No frills and not "resort-like" scene. Just...More

I loved the tybee island beach much better than hilton head beach. Quiet. Shade under the pier so no 32.00 chair and umbrella rental needed for this beach stay. if you forget something, there is a store across the street from the pier that has...More

1st trip to Tybee over the week of the 4th of July. Stayed near the light house end of the beach and had a great time. Low tide reveals a huge beach with calm waves and tide pools for the kids. Shell hunting and swimming...More

If you come to Tybee expect to be on Tybee Time. It's a quaint, quirky old fashioned beach town that doesn't even try to be pretentious. The beach is natural and not groomed or designed for tourist resorts. If you are a beach snob and...More

We love Tybee. When we first came to Savannah, I didn't get the charm of Tybee. I took the time to see its charm. No high rises, darling cottages, friendly locals and good water quality (according to a recent rating). Today we went to North...More

They were family oriented, fairly clean and easy to get to from Savannah if you have a car. The waves weren't overwhelming and the grade wasn't steep so you could go out pretty far into the water and still be standing flat footed. I wish...More

Enjoyed this beach with my kids - we rented a beach house and didn't stress getting all of our stuff to/from the beach every day.
