I used to visit Lake Mayer quite regularly in order to exercise. Most of the time, it was okay, the park is gorgeous and there was always a good amount of people there. However, on multiple occasions, I was harassed while running. I understand that...More

Like so much of Savannah...you are welcomed to the park with a statue/public art. Great community park with gorgeous lake views. There is a walking path around the perimeter which gives you great views of the lake, park, etc. There are quite a few picnic...More

my family enjoys the walking track, as well as the playground. I plan to teach my children tennis there as well. We highly recommend this to anyone looking to spend some time outside.

A very nice park and trails for walking and running. Twice around the lake and you get in three miles... Tennis courts, picnic areas, fishing and playgrounds, all free and easily accessible to Savannah and out of town families. Enjoy it!

This is our go-to spot! I've also reviewed Skidaway Island State Park and Oatland Nature Center - and of course, there is always Forsyth Park and River Street in Savannah itself. But Lake Mayer is our favorite. A mile-and-a-half around the lake with amazing waterfowl...More

We wanted to walk with our dog on the trail in this park but there are big signs posted all over -alligators in lake. The signs also indicate a dog exercise area -on leash- right next to the lake area with the "alligators in lake"...More

Our Crohn's and Colitis Foundation "Take Steps" Walk was supposed to take place at Daffin Park on October 16. However, we are looking for an alternative site for this important, family-oriented annual fund raising event sometime before mid-November. We think Lake Mayer Park would be perfect. Might it be possible for our group to hold its events at the park? Thank you very much. Michael Siegel 443-994-9692.
