Savannah is lovely walking city, and the City Market is perfect spot for a lunch or dinner, and just relax. In the evening there is usually music in the square (free). Some excellent restaurants with outdoor seating.

They have it. Blocks of covered booths selling a huge variety of goods. Some tacky some exquisite. From inexpensive trinkets to wonderful hand made baskets and jewelry. There are a few food vendors and everything that we tried was tasty. Take enough time so you...More

We enjoyed our time here. Full of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Plenty of outside seating and a great place to people watch. A nice busy bustling atmosphere that never felt intimidating.

Byrd's cookies and a great souvenir shop beside the Prohibition museum. The food selections are great and diverse. Great place to sit outside and have a picnic lunch.

City Market is the party area of the historic district. There are lots of bars and loud music. As well as places to get drink to go.

I visited City Market during the day - before noon. It wasn't very lively that time of day, but I wanted to see the art galleries and find a good place for lunch. I didn't have any particular expectations, but it really seemed rather ho-hum....More

Very busy, but there are some wonderful shops here. They were really friendly in the candy/sweet shop, where they were actually wrapping the salt water taffy which was fun to watch. The Byrnes cookie shop allows you to try the cookies before you buy and...More

The Pirates House has a good menu if you don't mind being away from the hub of activity found on River Street and City Market areas.

Not totally sure...I would assume they probably stay open as late as they do other nights...- a touristy area.
