When you walk down River Street in downtown Savannah, you can't help noticing this tall suspension bridge that crosses the Savannah River into South Carolina. If you're traveling to Hilton Head Island from downtown Savannah, this is one of the routes you can take. The view of the river is spectacular. The bridge is beautifully lit at night.

It is pretty to see this bridge down the way with cargo ships exiting the harbor while strolling down river street.

We saw it from the riverfront and could not resist taking a drive across. But beyond the convention center, there's a whole lot of nothing on the other side for I don't know how far (we drove several miles before turning around). It's a fine example of a suspension bridge!

Sitting on riverfront at sunset and looking at this beautiful bridge is a peaceful easy feeling. There are numerous park benches available and it feels like you are removed from the world when you look up at its magnificence. I highly recommend seeing a sunset from this spot!

I thought this bridge was beautiful and made my husband drive across it (he is not fond of heights and was not to happy with the experience) I loved the view (we went close to sunset on the way to dinner). It was a fun little thing to do that didn't take long and we got to see a great... More

This is an elegant bridge which you cross coming into the city from the airport. You can watch Panamax container ships go under it several times a day.

This bridge has simple beauty. We drove across it many times on our short time in town. I liked looking up at it. There is no cost to cross it.

Very steep climb as you drive up onto the bridge coming from the north coming into the city which gives you a commanding view. Watching the container ships pass underneath is also interesting because the clearance level is much lower than you'd expect

It got me from point A to point B. Pretty much what I expected. A bit unusual in design but I would not go out of my way to see it..
