This is a great place to grab a drink and sit by the river and watch the people river traffic and a beautiful sunset.

It was fun to stroll along River Street and see the huge freighters sail by. There are many places to eat, enjoy a drink, and shop for souvenirs. We especially enjoyed the candy store and the wonderful pralines.

Lovely place for a stroll. Not a walk. Take the time to wander, enjoy the smells, pop into the sweet shop for a praline or some candied pecans, window shop, visit the street market. Anything which does NOT involve watching your watch!

River Street is full of shops, restaurants and bars. The River views can't be missed and the cobblestones charming. All the businesses are in historic buildings such as former cotton factory etc. There is so much charm. When I visited 3 years ago the shops...More

It was a gorgeous day to walk down River Street and breathe in the delicate aroma of the Sweet Shoppes filling the air. How it brought back memories of my Mother when she traveled to her hometown after living in New York for over 45...More

This is a fascinating part of historic Savannah, but if you are not sure-footed, you may want to just take a drive through rather than try to walk. Because it's a deep-water port, huge container ships go by so close you can see the people...More

A walk along River Street is always on the agenda for my wife and I when we spend our annual few days away in Savannah. The best thing about River Street is the unobstructed view of the river. The descent to the street is treacherous...More

We only tried 2 on the river. fiddler's Crab House & Huey's. Both were good. outside of that, our worst meal was at Lady & Son's (it wasn't bad; but it wasn't great). The Old Pink House is a must!
