Where the famous bench scene in Forrest Gump was set, the square looks untouched in history. Very cool spot to see from the trolley tours, and to get off and walk around.

A must see if you are in the city for sightseeing. The shaded area of the square offers a respite from the scorching 90+ degree heat of the afternoon sun. Also a famous scene from Forrest Gump was filmed here.

The bench scene from Forrest Gump was filmed here. Even without that occurring, the park is beautiful and the homes surrounding it are special.

Very beautiful Square. We wanted to see where the bench scene in Forest Gump was filmed. Finally found the area. It was only roped off. No sign or anything. That was disappointing.

WE walked through this several times, but one night we just stopped to relax for a bit. Though it was late, we felt perfectly safe.

Take a break during your stay in Savannah in the shade and enjoy the atmosphere. A genuine Southern experience.

I believe I was walking in circles - I did find another "square" but it wasn't "Chippewa"... And even if I did find it the "Forrest Gump" bench I hear is gone - So not a total loss...

All the squares in Savannah are beautiful. This is the one that Forest Gump sits on in the movie, however, the bench has been moved to a museum in the city. The square is still a must when visiting Savannah.

Hi! We didn't see beignets on the menu anywhere in Savannah. Sorry!
