Beautiful Spot

This square was a quiet one, our tour guide said because of that it its a popular wedding spot and that all of the squares can be reserved for weddings. It is a nice quiet stop.

Laid out in 1790, this square was named to honor President George Washington in 1791 in the year of his visit to Savannah. It also has been the site of the Trustees Garden when it was a testing site for experimental crops. Located on Houston between Bryan and Congress Streets, it has no monuments with benches set on two paths... More

Looking around this square was a nice activity to do with our family. The weather the day we walked around was fairly humid but the square was a bit cooler. Overall it was nice to visit.

My niece had the pleasure of holding her wedding to her best friend in Washington Square. What a beautiful place to have a wedding with a gazebo in the center and lots of shade trees to keep it cool and comfortable for the wedding party and guests. It was truly magical.

This is a smaller square without the historical buildings surrounding it. Still neat to see and mark off the square tours. Had a calm and peaceful vibe.

This is another one of Savannah's many squares. It is smaller than some of the other squares, but thats what adds to its charms. Its not as packed with people as the other squares too. Recommended.

We stayed on E Congress and walked thru this square on our way to River Street. Its well maintained.lush with beautiful plants and so charming. Since its somewhat off the beaten path of tourists, its a nice place to sit and relax. We staying on this square again next month and looking forward to it.

Washington Square is a smaller square when compared in size to the other squares in the Historic District of Savannah, but it has a quiet charm about it. My wife and I would walk through Washington Square each day of our trip to Savannah on our way to and from the Historic District from our hotel, the Staybridge Suites on... More
