General Warren is one of the unsung heroes of the American Revolution. I saw the statue of General Warren several years ago when I visited the Bunker Hill Monument, so it was nice to visit this square that was named in his honor. As with all squares in Savannah, this is a great place to visit.

I stopped in Warren Square on my way from my hotel, the Staybridge Suites, to Leopold's for ice cream. A musician was playing the violin in the park. It was late in the day, less than an hour before dark. I sat on one of the benches and listend to several pieces that were played as I watched people come and go through the square.
After getting some ice cream and taking it back to my wife at the hotel, my wife and I went for a walk and stopped in Warren Square at the same bench I had sat at previously. It was a pleasant summer evening as we sat and took in the atmosphere of the evening. It was after dark as we walked down to Ellis Square and back along Bay Street trough Emmet Park to our hotel.
We have been through many of the squares during the day on our visits to Savannah, but this was the first time we had gone to any of the squares during the evening. The squares are one of my favorite attractions in Savannah. They are just as enjoyable in the evening as during the day.

This was one of the smallest square we encountered on a walk through historical Savannah. It really doesn't have much going on besides the fact that it's really quiet and peaceful.

Another square in Savannah this one is less ornate but does have a lot of old growth trees. It is very well maintained and a great place to stroll. There is a lot of history so be sure to read up before you go to the square. There are a lot of very old trees and some great vegetation.

Not too much to say about this park other than that it is small, clean and green. Buildings on one side of the park are old and on the other side stands a large parking garage, so when picking a bench to sit one turn you back on the garage.

As we walked around Savanna, we were glad there were parks like this one where one can get off ones feet for a while before pressing on the next attraction. We enjoyed this park before the flying bugs started to bother us.

Warren Square is a beautiful square located in the historical section of Savannah. Home to a beautiful Victorian Gazebo, Jolly Chriss.

This is another square that is more park like without the fancy monuments and fountains. It is pretty, just more park like.

One of the smaller squares in Savannah’s historic district, Warren square is grassy with lovely live oak trees. It is more peaceful than many of the more centrally locates squares. Named for General Joseph Warren, a revolutionary war hero. No monuments or statues. The ambiance is marred somewhat by an adjacent parking structure.

This square was laid out in 1791 and is named for a Revolutionary War General, Joseph Warren. There are lots of really big live oaks here.
