Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was eating dinner when I happened to glance out the window to see this lovely lighthouse. There was a light on inside...I saw a person walking around. It would see someone lives here...or was working late. I do not know if you can visit during the day but I did go out and walk around it at night.

Beautiful and unique appearing lighthouse dating back to 1856 and now on display in Baltimore's Inner Harbor and part of the Historic Ships of Baltimore ticket. It is one of the oldest Chesapeake lighthouses still in existence. I didn't go inside but it was still an intriguing sight as I strolled through the Inner Harbor.

If you love lighthouses then this is a stop for you. It is unusual and you can get up close without going in/on the water.

The Knoll has an interesting history to be discovered, documented on the inside of the building. However, like most things in Baltimore, it fails to make an impression. You wouldn't necessarily appreciate anything that can be learned by the taking the small self-guided tour in the lighthouse. Go if you have time to burn off your day, but don't invest your time in it.

This is a free attraction (although a $1 donation is encouraged) that is worth the time to walk through. The information is very interesting.

I came to Baltimore for my 40th high school reunion. Our high school was in southern MD, but we move our reunions around to different locations. Outside of my room at the Pier 5 Hotel, I noticed the screw pile lighthouse. I remember as a child that my Great Grandmother was born and raised in a screw pile lighthouse. I remember seeing black and white photos. Her nickname was Knollie, for being born at the 7 Foot Knoll Lighthouse. But I remember that the lighthouse was 17 miles up the Chesapeake Bay. I had my wife, one of my daughters, and three grandchildren with me. To my surprise when we went to visit it; it was the exact 7 Foot Knoll lighthouse that my great grandmother was born in; they had moved it. Attached is a family photo with three more generations looking over the edge railing. We actually visited it in August 2014.

The exhibit itself is closed, due to restrictions. No matter, just reading the display sign which describes the original location and its history was educational enough. Imagining living in this station over the water, that would have been fun!

This family-friendly attraction is worth stopping by and learning of the lighthouse era. It's free, so if you don't find it interesting it's easy to bail. I loved the photos and stories of past lighthouse keepers.

It is a tiny little thing as far as lighthouses go, but it is well worth the time and the dollar you pay to visit.
You are able to walk around the entire outside and inside see how the keeper lived. There are plenty of interesting artifacts and pictures inside. It is an interesting building and a fun stop. The A/C is on which is nice considering the humidity in Baltimore.

Visited a couple weekends ago, they charge a small fee but the place has such rich history. It is worth a half hour visit. Very cool to see how it ended up on the harbor.

Hi, what would you like to know about this attraction?
This is interesting to note that the lighthouse is included in the 4 ship's entrance fee. Funny that we were never told that last year.
I do believe the non-smiling workers selling the tickets in the booth near the submarine should verbally tell patrons that the lighthouse is included in the ticket to see all the 4 ships.
Why were we not 'told'. Sure its 'written' somewhere but the verbal prompting would have been helpful indeed.
Written 20 June 2019
I think it's recent that is included in that 4 ships deal. But, I posted in other questions too, Mondays the lighthouse is closed, ships open but lighthouse is not.
Written 29 July 2019
Can you just pay to go to lighthouse or do you have to pay for the ships as well?
Thanks,
Pam

I'm pretty sure you can pay individually or get a pass to all.
