Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, The Senator opened on October 5th, 1939 as a single screen movie house. It is a historic Art-Deco movie theatre designed by John J. Zink. The Senator reopened on Thursday, October 10th, 2013 with 4 screens, including the restored and renovated original auditorium.

We saw the new Guardians of the galaxy film on the big screen. We ordered burgers from Clark burger. You are allowed to bring the food from Clark Burger into the theater. We ate it at the tables in the back row during the film....More

The Senator I have visited throughout the many years of living in the Baltimore area. Full of nostalgia, beautiful art deco, still only 1 huge screen, unlike all of the multiplex theater out there now. Directly off York Road near Towson, Maryland.

Seeing a movie on the big screen in the main theater should not be missed. The preserved historic charm of the theater is complimented with an amazing sound system and cushy new seats. Check the schedule for retro movie screenings.
