A very small and crowded museum, $3 admission is worth the price to help support this piece of American history. Very tight and cramped quarters. Focused really on the riot of 1861 that occurred there at the onset of the war. Also memorialized the initial slain in the conflict that was to follow. Staffed by volunteers with an interest in... I went with my dad. We are both history buffs and we were also in Baltimore to see the Yankees play the Orioles. Overall the museum offers a lot of history and a few artifacts from the Civil War period. I only wish that there was more to see, but I do recommend that you stop in if you happen... More

For a $3.00 entrance fee you can learn some history about the civil war and how Baltimore and the railroad played a part. The gentleman gave same great snippet of history based on the pictures that are on display. He made it interesting even to a non-history buff

I'm a history buff, with family born in the north and myself in the south. My brother's undergraduate degree is in US History, so when growing up we played all kinds of war games, including the Blue & Grey. This place is interesting only for those really interested in a small part of the Civil War: the local region's unique... More

It's a nice stop but not a must. You need less than an hour. Interesting civil war facts about the area. You can also get some history on the building itself.

If you are a Civil War buff this is a good place to visit. It describes the angst Baltimore went through being in the middle, geographically, of the famous conflict. It's not a big museum but has many interesting displays and artifacts.

I walked a good ways from my hotel to get to the museum, but there were good things to look at along the way. I walked in and wasn't exactly sure what I would find. I think it was $2 or $3 to walk through the museum. I thought that was amazingly cheap, but the place is also very small.... More

The Civil War Museum is located near the inner harbor on President Street. There is a fee to visit the museum- it isn't free. The cost was $3 for adults and $2 for children/students.

We were somewhat disappointed in this little museum. There is only a $3 admission, so at least it's inexpensive. The main problem is they have such a jumble of things that don't tie together well. Many things are unexplained, which is necessary for the viewer to understand their relevance to the Civil War. I believe several well-meaning individuals have collected... More

We stopped in at this museum on a walk through the neighborhood. Although other sites stated that it wa free, there is a $3 charge for the museum. As stated in other reviews, it is quite small. It isn't a "destination" museum; if traveling out of your way to specifically visit it, you may be disappointed. However, as another stop... More
