Be prepared for the unusual and imaginative at this museum housing works by non-mainstream artists, including the "whirligig", a 55-foot wind-powered sculpture, a 10-foot model of the Lusitania made entirely out of match sticks and a mobile that spans three floors.

You will experience some of the most amazing eclectic art imaginable! I'm am not going to include photos so you can experience it live without prejudice! I would put this on the top of the list when visiting downtown Baltimore even before the inner harbor!...More

Debated going, but outstanding. A different kind of art museum, and not to be missed if you have any eclectic view of any form of art. A little heavy handed on preaching, but all in a good cause, and the art will wake you up....More

"Visionary" in the name of the museum distinguishes the work from "Outsider" art, and the museum takes pains to provide information about the artists' backgrounds that helps explain the...More

Great museum for teenagers & kids. Modern day ecletic artists, my description & as the saying goes, "eclectic is in the mind of the beholder" so you might describe it differently! Great gift shop & restaurant.

All the works in the AVAM are by untrained artists. It is a visual feast. It is always different and always interesting. I highly recommend the museum.

Well-worth the time ... a very enjoyable experience. Charm city bus (Blue Line from Inner Harbor) stop near by with a nice walk before or after to\/from the Federal Hill dining district.
