We went to Easter Sunday Mass here. It was beautiful. The Basilica is gorgeous inside and out. The Mass was lovely and the cantor had the voice of an angel. If you've never attended Mass here you have to go. I would recommend sending a note and getting seating so you will be close up front, otherwise you may be... More

*Parking on the street with either coins or credit card to put parking pass on your windshield. We bought 1 hour and added a 2nd hour/ it was so interesting! Volunteer Docents greet you when you enter the church. I'm so glad, because my first impression of this (First USA) cathedral, now Basilica was: this is so plain Jane inside,... More

The oldest Basilica in the United States. Has an area downstairs with a museum of sorts that covers the history of the basilica. Mass was great not too long with an excellent choir. For such a formal environment it was very come as you are even for Christmas Eve service.

We happened to be in town for Palm Sunday. How awesome it was for the Bishops to say mass in this, America's 1st cathedral. There are tours for those who get into that, but just being one with the spirit in this fantastic shrine was enough for us.

The Baltimore Basilica is a beautiful Catholic Basilica designed in an American style of architecture on its exterior. Guided tours are available to individuals and even large group (donations recommended). The Basilica is full of Catholic history, from its importance as America's first Cathedral to the Papal visit of Pope Saint John Paul II and Saint Teresa of Calcutta. The... More

This building was beautifully restored. So peaceful inside. Pretty cool that it was the first Basilica in America. The tour was very informative. (Guide should speak louder and more clearly). If you can get a mass in during your visit do so! I sat on a pew that St. Theresa sat in!!That was a thrill for me. We also drove... More

You can take either a guided tour or a self-guided one using a leaflet that is provided. We opted for the guided tour thinking we would learn more and we think we did. The guide did a good job of explaining history and architectural significance of the Basilca. We were most taken with the architecture of the crypt area. There... More

To walk into this Shrine is like walking back into history This is an amazing looking sanctuary. The restoration kept many of the original design concepts, some of which had been covered up in previous projects.
