We only looked at it from the outside but it was nice. I was told you can climb it but don't know that for a fact. In a neighborhood that has some great restaurants.More

There are lots of Washington Monuments, I think there is one on the Appalachian Trail in the Maryland section. Or very close to it. There is also a much more diminutive one on Charles street in Baltimore.

Yes, you should be able to climb to the top. You should buy your ticket in advance to ensure you can climb. If you have a group, know that they limit the number. There is no open air platform - you just can look out 4 large... More

Yes, the Monument is still being restored in preparation for its bicentennial on July 4, 2015. It will be rededicated and reopened then, with a Fourth of July festival in Mount Vernon Place. In the meantime, Check out the... More
